Relleno De Papa

Rellenos de Papa


  • About six to ten potatoes
  • 2lbs of ground beef
  • 2 tbs of cornstarch¬†
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbs of sofrito
  • 2 tbs of tomato sauce¬†
  • 1 tbs of sazon
  • Adobo to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Red peppers (optional)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (seasoned with salt and pepper)
  • Oil to fry


Peel, cut, and boil potatoes until soft. Brown ground beef, add sofrito, tomato sauce, adobo, black pepper, sazon, and red peppers, cook until all combined. Mash the potatoes and let them cool add egg and cornstarch. Take a scoop of potatoes, flatten it in the palm of your hand, and add a spoon of beef. Close the potatoes around the beef to start creating a ball shape in your hand. Roll the potato ball in the seasoned flour and fry in hot oil until browned and on the outside.
